The Royal Wedding… Dress!

Well what an exciting weekend! The Royal Wedding, the 2011 TV Week Logie Awards… so much fashion! Let's start with the Royal Wedding (be sure to visit our Fashion & Beauty blog for a run-down of the Logies!)…

We were all counting down the hours on Friday, waiting with baited breath for one particular moment in the royal wedding… the moment that Kate stepped out of the car and we could finally see her dress!

Kate's gown, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, was absolutely stunning with its long-sleeves, English and French Chantilly lace appliqué bodice, satin gazar pleated skirt and nine-foot train. Coupled with a full veil, Cartier tiara borrowed from the Queen and a small bouquet of white blooms, her wedding day style was greeted with swoons of admiration from the crowds outside the Abbey. As Kate arrived at the altar, the crowds' sentiments were matched with William's beaming smile!

Kate's gown was truly divine, and very befitting of the moment. Kate is said to have chosen the British brand for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing. Working closely with Sarah Burton, Kate wanted a dress that combined tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen's work.
